It is with profound sadness that we share the news
of the passing of Donald Brocklehurst at the age of 77, on November 10th, 2021.
Don fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer and was surrounded by his family
at home at the time of his passing.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Jean Kerr.
He leaves to mourn his children Matthew (Valerie), Lynne (Howard), Sharon (Rick), Randy (Andrea) as well as his 6 grandchildren, Anika, Lucas, Austin, James, Alex & Emma. He also leaves to mourn his sister Robin (Wayne), his nieces Kate (Grant) and Julie (Michael) and their families, and many friends throughout the Chateauguay Valley and beyond.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Louise Foisy with the CLSC, as well as to Donald’s niece Kate Henriques. We wish to recognize Louise’s professionalism, and to thank both Kate and Louise for their compassion in assisting Don’s family with his care at home during his final week.
A celebration of his life will be held—in full compliance with Covid-19 sanitary measures—between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday November 20th, 2021, at Branch 196 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Ormstown, Quebec. A private family service is to be held at Georgetown Presbyterian Cemetery in Howick at a later date.
In his memory, donations may be made
to the Women’s Auxiliary of the Barrie Memorial Hospital.

Donald Brocklehurst – born on D-day 1944 – aka son, military man, husband, father, tinsmith, plumber, carpenter, homeowner, greenhouse operator, trucker, my personal building inspector and heating adviser, and lately captain of the Chateauguay River – but best of all, just a great friend. To Jean and all his family and friends – my deepest condolences. To Don – until we meet again – it’s been an honor and a privilege to have had you in my life – RIP Brock. Dean

Don was a generous and loving man. We shared gardening interests, especially growing tomatoes.
We will miss him, and his sense of humor. God bless his family.

Sending my sympathy to Jean and Family and Don’s Extended Family .
Don and I were born almost at the same time.
He loved to say to the girls at the bank » can you believe it, at one time we both fit into
the same baby pram » !
Another one gone and I will miss him.
