Madeleine Virginia Haney (née Duchesnay), 1928–2023

In Ormstown, on the morning of September 2nd
while residing at the Centre d’hébergement Ormstown,
Madeleine peacefully left this world.

Madeleine Virginia Haney, (née Duchesnay), was born on August 17, 1928, to Margaret McIntosh and Louis A. Duchesnay.  Predeceased by her sister Jacqueline Nash (2014), she is survived by her younger brother Louis D. Duchesnay of Toronto.

Madeleine graduated as an RN from McGill University early on, and she left in 1962 for California where she worked as a pediatric nurse for the rest of her career. Later on she decided to return to her family and set up residence in Ormstown. All of her life Madeleine was very fond of animals, and two of her greatest joys were her German Shepherd Shultz and her little Katy.

Madeleine lived a full life helping out where she could;
she will be missed by many.

A memorial service is planned for a later date.

In her memory, donations may be made to the BarrieMemorial Hospital
or to the Centre d’hébergement Ormstown, 65 Hector St. Ormstown (Quebec) J0S 1K0.

    My deepest sympathies to the family. Madeleine was a grand lady and we thoroughly enjoyed her kindness over the years.

    My condolances to Debbie, Mario and family
    I had the pleasure of meeting Madeleine when she first moved back from California. She would come into Ratte’s and I was drawn to her right away, so I started calling her grandmother. She would bring me Sugar Cookies or Date/Nut Loaf almost weekly. I am truly bless to have met her. I will miss Mad, until we meet again
