Passed away at the Barrie Memorial Hospital in Ormstown,
with family by her side, on November 8, 2023, in her 92nd year.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lloyd Sutton, in 1999. Loving mother of Lori & Bob Carroll, Nola & Bob Vaincourt, adoring grandmother of Allyson Carroll (Eric Ness), Mitchell Carroll (Rachel Salmon-Belisle), Daniel Carroll (Liz Simpson), Elaine Vaincourt (Alexandre R. Hudon), Jennifer Vaincourt (Eric Simpson), Victoria Vaincourt (Austin Rikley), Racquel Vaincourt (Justin Busboom), and dear great-granny to Malcolm, Liara & Karter Ness, Theodore Hudon, Matthew & Clara Simpson.
Vera will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law May Barker, her nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours in Havelock, Howick and Ormstown. Daughter of the late George Barker and Susan Maud Good, and little sister of her late siblings Alan, Malcolm and Pauline Barker.
The family will receive condolences Sunday, November 12th, from 11:00 a.m. followed by the ceremony at 1:00 p.m. at McGerrigle Funeral Home. Donations may be made in her memory to Bethel Cemetery, 20 Covey Hill Road, Havelock, Quebec, J0S 2C0.
She will be forever missed and loved.

To Lori and Nola and your families, your dear mother and dad, both were such positive people who worked hard around the farm and preserved the good old ways, so welcoming all the time. From my place at the corner I’d walk down with an empty bottle for some fresh milk and one winter helped yank a breeched calf out of the cow with a bull rope. Never will forget them.

It was always wonderful to be around her. Her easy-going nature and genuine interest in things going on made the visits really nice. My condolences go out to the whole family.

Vera is a part of so many of my childhood memories of time well spent with family. She was a steadfast yet funny soul, with a pure and welcoming smile that went to her eyes. You could also expect some good natured ribbing during those epic rounds of her favorite game Parcheesi at the kitchen table. She gave of her time for church functions and always lended her ear to us kids while peeling potatoes or making cheese and tomato sandwiches, while she insisted you sit rocking in her favorite chair in the kitchen, or shared her much loved box of chocolates. You are welcomed back into the arms of those who went before you Vera. Until we meet again ❤️
