Marie-Marthe Buchanan (née Primeau), 1936–2024

With great sadness, the family of Mary Buchanan of Howick Quebec,
announces her peaceful passing on January 16, 2024,
at the Centre d’hébergement Ormstown.

Mary will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children Susan, Ronald, Richard (June) and Sandra (Raymond). A special grandma to 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, she is survived by her brother Réal Primeau (Marielle), and sisters-in-law Doris and Donna. She also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews.

Daughter of late Adélard Primeau and late Marie Parent, she was predeceased by her loving husband Ross Buchanan, and she is now also reunited with her daughter Sherri, her grandson Darren, her son-in-law Barry and her daughter-in-law Karen.

Mary grew up and spent all her life in the small rural municipality of Howick, Quebec. She began working at the Howick Post office as a part-time employee in 1975. Eventually, she became the postmaster and remained in this position until her retirement.

A heartfelt thank you to Dre Bélanger and Dr. Wight,
also to the wonderful staff of the second floor at the long-term care center
who provided the best care to our mother, with kindness and compassion.
We are forever grateful.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
