Cora Georgina Allen (née Jackson), 1935–2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of
our beloved mother, Cora Georgina Jackson, with her family by her side
on April 29, 2024, at the age of 88 years.

Cora will be lovingly remembered by her 5 children, Kelly (Wally), Michael (Missy), Klay (late Rhonda), Leanne (Michel) and Barry. A special grandmother to 11 and to 6 great-grandchildren.

Born on Covey Hill on October 14, 1935, she was the youngest of John Jackson and Cora Lowden.  She was predeceased by her husband Harold in 2010, and by her siblings.

Following the loss of her mother in 1935, Cora was raised by the Covey Hill Watt family.

Our mother was a very proud lifelong Covey Hill/Havelock citizen. She was known and recognized for supporting the Trinity Anglican Church and was a founding Member of the Havelock Community Centre, believing strongly that giving to her Community was a very important part of her life.

..

A funeral service will be held on May 26th at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Anglican Church, 402 Route 202, Havelock, followed by shared memories and refreshments at the Havelock Town Hall.

We are very grateful for the compassion and care shown to our mother
at the Barrie Memorial Hospital, Ormstown.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Trinity Anglican Church Cemetery,
368 Route 202, Havelock, QC  J0S 2C0.

I am so sorry to read about Cora’s passing. I remember her fondly as a parent at Franklin School. She was always so interested in the education of her children and so lovely to speak with. Kelly, Michael, Klay, Leanne and Barry, I send you energy and love. I taught all of you, with the exception of Kelly. You were such polite and happy children and that is a testament to Cora.

Kelly and Wally, I am very sorry to hear of Cora’s passing. I haven’t spoken to her since she moved into Huntingdon, but I always enjoyed my conversations with her when she lived at her place in Havelock. She was a lovely, kind woman.

My condolences to you and your family.
