Ronald Leslie Barrett, January 7, 1930 – November 4, 2024

On November 4th, after a brief illness and in his 95th year,
our Dad, Ronald Barrett, went to join our Mom in heaven.

He leaves to mourn his children Wendy (Robert), Sheri (Philippe), Leslie (late Sally) and Timothy, his cherished grandchildren Vanessa (David), Roxanne (Eric), Elisha (Bryan), Bryana (Eric), Alexandre (Jess), Nicholas and treasured great-grandchildren Eden, Declan, Dallas, Lily, Davy and Wyatt who all knew him as Poppa. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law Anita (Elmer) and several nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lillian, his parents Leslie and Edie (LeMercier) and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

The Barrett family wishes to give special thanks; to Jessica Bergevin, who cared so lovingly for our Mom and continued to care for Dad, adding a gentle presence to his days; to Pat Roberge who filled Dad’s days with baking and special activities while being a great help around the house; to the many nurses from the CLSC who came to check on Dad and take blood tests so he wouldn’t have to go out; to Melanie Pinsonneault, Dad’s nurse practitioner, for her professional knowledge and kindness, who took over Dad’s care from his long-time physician, Dr. John Hortop; to the Paraxion ambulance team for their kindness, and finally to the staff at the Huntingdon County Hospital, who provided expert care of Dad in his final days.

Entrusted to the care of McGerrigle Funeral Home in Ormstown,
a spring memorial service for both of our parents will be held, for family and friends,
at St. Stephen’s Church in Lachine where they were married so many years ago,
followed by burial at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

As an expression of sympathy, the family would welcome donations
to the Women’s Auxiliary of the Barrie Memorial Hospital
or the Women’s Auxiliary of the Huntingdon County Hospital.

Wendy, the Girls and the whole Barrett family,
Jim and I send our deepest sympathies on the loss of your Dad and Poppa. We know how close you all were with your parents and grandparents. They are together once more and you all have each other for support. One day at a time.
