Jean Templeton (née McMahon), July 27, 1932—April 6, 2025

It is with deep love that the family announces the passing
of Jean Elizabeth Templeton (née McMahon)
on April 6, 2025, at the age of 92.

Jean was born in Harrington, Quebec, to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Ball-Shaw) McMahon. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Murray McGregor Templeton of Howick, and by her siblings John, Joan, Jim, Bob, and Helen.

She will be deeply missed by her children: Mark (Maria-Ann), Jane (Gerry Tully), Scott (Marina), and Jim (Ingrid); her thirteen grandchildren: Melissa, Ryan, Michael and Kristina; Michael, Steven and Jeffrey; Emily, Lauren and Kristen; Vanessa, Jared, and Nash; and twenty great-grandchildren who brought her immense pride and joy. Jean is also lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Jean Furcall and Barbara McMahon, countless nieces and nephews, and friends.

Jean was the heart of her family—a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering devotion. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, filled with laughter, kindness, and endless conversation. She touched many lives with her grace and generosity, and her legacy of love and connection will live on through all who knew her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Huntingdon County Hospital, the CLSC home care services, and the nurse-practitioner-led palliative home care team. A special thank you goes to her devoted caregivers, Linda and Rhea, whose care and compassion meant so much.

A service in celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Friday, April 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the Howick United Church, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. A reception will follow downstairs at the Howick United Church Hall.

To honour Jean’s memory, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.

Forever
in our hearts.
