Merrill (Buzzie) Morrison, 1945–2018

Merrill -Buzzie- Morrison, 1945-2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Buzzie on May 19, 2018 at the age of 72.

Cherished husband of 47 years to Diane, loving father to Julie (Chris), Nancy (Dave), Janet (Mike) and amazing grandfather to Austin, Ella, Taylen and Jaeda.

Survived by his brothers David, Jimmy & Peter, Buzzie was predeceased by his sister Brenda (Don) and brothers Donnie (Diane) and Bobbie. Buzzie will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, family, friends and all who knew him.

He will be remembered for his love of life, dedication to his family and his great sense of humour.

Visitations will be held at Mc Gerrigle Funeral Home on June 1st, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  A celebration of Buzzie’s life will be held on Saturday, June 2nd, at 2:00 pm at the Georgetown Church in Howick.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Howick Elementary School, where he worked for 32 years and where he could easily be found by following his whistle.

My deepest sympathies to Diane and family. Buzzie was so much a part of my tenure at Howick Elementary School. We had many wonderful conversations and more than a few laughs over the antics of school life. My most vivid memory was of the two of us standing at the window of the staff room in the spring and fall and watching the thousands of geese flying over the school. I still think of him when I see the geese soaring overhead. Always a smile and a kind word….his gentle spirit will live on in our memories. Rest in peace my friend. xoxoxo
