Greg passed away peacefully on August 16th, 2019 in Ormstown, surrounded by his family, after bravely battling a devastating cancer that was diagnosed less than 3 months ago.
Beloved husband of 44 years to Nadia, cherished father to Tamara (Andrew Penwell), Sasha (Sandra) and Katrina (Edwin Faulder) and dear ‘Papi’ to his granddaughter Katie (Penwell).
Greg will be lovingly remembered by his surviving brothers, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, also many nieces and nephews. His family was of utmost importance to him.
A masterful chef, party planner extraordinaire and passionate musician, Greg loved spending time with family and friends, treating them to evenings of fine food and good music.
Greg loved being a rural Family Doctor and devoted all 44 years of his medical career practicing medicine at the Ormstown Medical Centre and at the Barrie Memorial Hospital, where he formed lasting relationships with his colleagues, nurses, administrative staff and patients.
He led his life by example and was loved and respected by those who knew him. His legacy will live on through his family and the work he has done in his community. He will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 22, from 2 to 4 pm, and 6 to 8 pm at the McGerrigle Funeral Home, 70 Lambton St, Ormstown, QC.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 23, at 10:30 am at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church, 615 Stuart Avenue, Outremont, QC.
If desired, donations can be made to the Barrie Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, 28 rue Gale, Ormstown, QC. J0S 1K0 or to the CVR SASS (Student Activity Sponsorship Society) 1597 Route 138A, Ormstown, QC J0S 1K0.

I heard of Dr. Geukjian’s passing, only today. I have been cycling along the beautiful Lake Champlain, and carried this news with a sad and heavy heart. What an extraordinary doctor; such care and devotion to the well being of his clients, for so many years! The hole he leaves empty in our community will never really be refilled. May he now Rest In Peace. My deepest sympathies to Nadia and the entire Geukjian family.

I knew Greg at a very young age we were family friends looked up to him when I was young he gave me his guitar tried to teach me to play it,years passed when he moved to Ormstown lost touch but we saw each other at a fund raising event 3 years ago got caught up and as if we never lost touch sorry to all your loved ones that you are gone now but you will never lose touch we will always remember you RIP

My heart saddens to hear about this I was last there to see him and i had an appointment in the end of july which they called me to cancel and I was shocked. He was my grandmothers doctor my mothers and mine and my children’s. I am so very very hurt by this he has been there for me and my family over many many years, i never expected that my last appointment would of been my last appointment..
