Gordon Brooks, 1935–2021

We announce with great sadness the peaceful passing of Gordon
on March 13, 2021 at the age of 85 years.

Gordon will be greatly missed by his children Cathy (David), Robert (Wendy) and Ken.  He was very proud of his grandchildren Caitlyn, Mitch (Tamara), Brittany, Jordan, Elliot (Zoé), Eric (Ariane) and Eve (Evan), and a very special Grampa to his great-grandchildren Landen and Teagan.

He will be remembered for the love he shared with his late wife Mary, and how much he enjoyed working on the farm with his family.

A private service will be held at a later date. To honour Gordon’s memory, donations can be made to the Diabetes Canada.

The Brooks family would like to thank the staff
of the Barrie Memorial Hospital in Ormstown,
and our family and friends for their compassion and support.

Sincere condolences to the family of the late Gordon Brooks. I grew up on the neighbouring farm on Brooks road and was friends with Eunice. I remember that little grin that shows in his photo.

To all the Books family my sincere sympathy. Gordon was a special person to me, as he got me started in pig farming. He was a very kind and honest man someone for a young lad to look up to.

    So long friend.

Our sincere condolences to Bob, Cathy, Ken and all the family. I have fond memories of Gordon as our Sunday School teacher and recall a particular outing in the late ‘70’s to ‘High Falls Park’and ‘Mari-Ann’s Michigans’ where Gordon generously treated us all.

The Brooks Family and the community have suffered a great loss with Gordon’s passing. Served as a Volunteer Fireman, a Township Councillor, a family man, ever so busy on the farm, Gordon was always eager to give a helping hand. A great man with a big heart, I will surely miss another cheery visit with him. I am so glad to have shared quite a few with him and I was eagerly looking forward to another within several weeks. My deepest sympathy to the family. RIP Gordon, my true friend.

Stu and I will never forget spending your 50th birthday Cathy at the farm and surprising you. Staying in your Dad’s house was so amazing. We will never forget hanging out with the cows Gordon had at the time and going through the apple orchard picking apples and going to the quarry. It was such an amazing time with your Mom and Dad and they made us feel so welcome. We are just grateful we got to meet them both and treasure the memories of them in our hearts forever.
