Jane W. Younie (née Metcalfe), 1947–2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jane
on Tuesday March 29, 2022 at the age of 75 years
in Ormstown.

Jane was the beloved wife of Roy Younie. She also leaves to mourn her daughter Jocelyne (Éric Varin) and her son John Roy (Thalie), grandchildren Aidan (Jessica) and Baylee (Jordan) and great-granddaughter Alaya, her brother John Metcalfe (Cathy) of Kamloops, British Columbia, as well as other family members and friends.

A passionate gardener, Jane was also a very busy person in the community: a member of the Hinchinbrooke Volunteer Fire Brigade and of the Women’s Institute (WI), mother to her students at CVR in Ormstown, and looking after different projects that came her way.

Cremation has taken place
and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

In Jane’s memory, donations to the Women’s Auxiliary of the Barrie Memorial Hospital in Ormstown or to the Cedars Cancer Clinic in Montreal, would be appreciated.

Please accept our sympathies Roy and family. Jane was an example of teacher dedication to her students. Nothing was too difficult or too much to help the young people with whom she worked. She was an example for all teachers and was always ready to give an opinion that was well thought through. Following her long battle, May she Rest In Peace and rise in glory!

So sad to hear the news of Jane’s passing. Jane was my first teacher mentor and so much of the teacher I am today is because of her and everything she taught me. Jane’s legacy will live on through the lives of everyone she touched.
I wish to extend my sincere sympathies to Roy and the entire family.
