It is with saddened hearts that we announce the peaceful passing
of our beloved Uncle Jim, James Bryson, 95 years young,
in his life-time home, The Point Round Farm in Brysonville, Qc.,
on April 17, 2024.
…
Born August 3, 1928, in Ormstown, the youngest child of Stanley Bryson and Margaret Clark Glen. Predeceased by siblings Ruth, Elwood, Margaret and Merrick. The last of his generation, the last Bryson in Brysonville. He leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews with whom he shared a mutual loving bond that will never be replaced or forgotten.
Uncle Jim witnessed and partook in all our lives, kindling relationships and interactions that have ebbed and flowed throughout our lives. It breaks our hearts to have to imagine the future without our dear uncle Jim whom we thought would be on the farm forever.
The Brysonville bachelor, known to one and all, old farmer, with that twinkle in his eye, lived his 95 wonderful years on the farm. He was a caring, joyful man with a huge smile for everyone. All who met him will never forget him. Our friends all called him Uncle Jim, and described him as a man bursting with personality, wit and humour. He had a very unique and distinctive way of talking with that rise in his voice, a fantastic memory able to recall family lineage and history. He followed hockey, current events and the goings-on in the community.
Uncle Jim was our family lifeline, the warm, happy thread that knitted us all together with his phone calls and visits. He was famous for passing on the info from one family member to the next. He kept us all informed and connected; how we miss his phone calls!
Each year Uncle Jim looked forward to going to his birthday bash put on by the Taylor’s in Saranac Lake. Once again, a knitting together of family, nieces and nephews gathered from far and near to visit and celebrate the event.
As his mobility declined, in good weather, Uncle Jim could be seen sitting at the road on his wee tractor watching the traffic. Some stopped by for a visit, others blew their horns after which we would get the call informing us of who had stopped by and who was blowing through Brysonville! He loved all that action.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Brysonville/Allen’s Corners community and everyone else who helped look out for him over the years. It was not always easy with an Uncle who always did it his way! Your help, visits and phone calls made his day. He really appreciated all that everyone did for him so THANK YOU!

everyone’s favourite Uncle Jim, who will never be forgotten
but will live in our hearts forever,
